Call for Proposals Now Closed

We are excited to invite you to submit a proposal for the 2025 AAPL Annual Leadership Conference, themed "Change through Bold Leadership: Celebrating 50 Years and Beyond." This milestone event will take place at the Park Plaza Hotel in Boston, MA, from April 24-27, 2025, with concurrent and workshop sessions scheduled for April 25-26, 2025.

The conference aims to provide engaging and thought-provoking experiences for our attendees, and we encourage you to contribute by sharing your expertise and insights.

Session Topics

Please consider the following topics and select the one which is the best fit for you. When you submit your proposal, please be sure to address the prompt under each topic.
  • Topic 1: Improving Outcomes with AI & Data Analytics
    We are seeking proposals that address various aspects of AI and data analytics in healthcare from experts in the field. Topics of interest include AI in clinical decision-making, predictive analytics, personalized medicine, ethical and legal considerations, patient engagement, and care coordination. Additionally, we welcome case studies, data visualization techniques, strategies for improving outcomes and efficiency, data privacy and security, and the role of leadership in fostering a data-driven culture in healthcare organizations.
  • Topic 2: Maximizing Your Potential: Balancing Clinical Practice and Entrepreneurship
    Physicians who have successfully navigated the world of entrepreneurship are invited to submit proposals focused on the application of empowering fellow physicians to explore entrepreneurship and innovation in healthcare. Topics may include information about identifying opportunities, building startups, raising capital, and navigating legal and regulatory considerations. Additionally, we are interested in strategies for partnerships, collaborations, and scaling successful healthcare businesses.
  • Topic 3: Navigating Private Equity in Healthcare
    This learning track is focused on exploring the role of private equity in healthcare and how physician leaders can navigate this landscape with concepts that may include focusing on investment opportunities, impacts on organizations and patients, and best practices for physician leaders. Additional Topics include legal considerations, balancing financial returns with patient care, and the future implications of private equity in healthcare.
  • Topic 4: Validating the ROI of Physician Leadership
    Submissions for this learning track should be focused on exploring the return on investment (ROI) of physician leadership in healthcare. Topics may include the impact of physician leadership on healthcare outcomes and patient care, methods for measuring ROI, and the role of physician leaders in driving innovation and change. Additionally, proposals might address strategies for developing effective leadership programs, the financial benefits of physician leadership, and its importance in quality and safety initiatives, as well as the future impact on ROI in healthcare.
  • Topic 5: Optimizing Payor Relationships in Healthcare
    Those who have expertise on the importance of strong payor relationships in healthcare may submit proposals that include strategies for negotiating and managing contracts, understanding payor policies, and leveraging data analytics and technology. Additionally, we are interested in best practices for collaborating with payors to improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, and the future implications of payor relationships for healthcare organizations.
  • Topic 6: Breaking Silos, Building Teams: Interprofessional Collaboration
    Submissions for this learning track should focus on the importance of interprofessional collaboration in healthcare and the role of physician leaders in fostering effective teamwork. Topics may include the benefits of interprofessional collaboration, strategies for building high-performing teams, and overcoming barriers. We are also interested in proposals that address the role of communication and cultural competence, best practices for integration into healthcare systems, measuring impact on patient outcomes and performance, and the future implications for physician leaders.
  • Topic 7: Transformative Leadership in Value Based Care
    Areas of interest for this topic may include designing patient-centered care models, developing quality and performance metrics, and strategies for patient engagement and empowerment. Additionally, we invite proposals that address financial models supporting value-based care, addressing cultural competency and health equity, building and sustaining trust, integrating preventive and community health initiatives, and navigating regulatory and policy implications.

  • Notifications for acceptance sent to submitters:
    September 30th, 2024

  • Deadline to accept the invitation to present:
    October 13th, 2024

  • Full schedule announced:
    November 1st, 2024

  • Session materials due:
    March 21st, 2025
