Pam Trafford is a senior lecturer II on the faculty in the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She teaches a wide breadth of undergraduate and graduate accounting courses. She was one of Isenberg’s first faculty to teach in the online programs and continues to have a special interest in combining teaching and technology. She has served the school and the university in a variety of committee/advisory roles related to online teaching.
Trafford is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a chartered global management accountant (CGMA). She worked for audit, tax and advisory firm KPMG for 10 years, serving as a senior manager in the tax practice for four years. She served all the not-for-profit clients in her office and was a featured speaker about taxation issues for not-for-profit health care institutions. She belongs to many professional organizations and has served as a treasurer for a regional not-for-profit organization and as a member of the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel.
Her recent awards and honors include the following:
Nominated in 2022 and 2023 for the American Accounting Association/J. Michael and Mary Anne Cook/Deloitte Foundation Prize demonstration of superior teaching in accounting.
Distinguished Teaching with Digital Technology Award- Graduate Programs. 2021-2022.
Isenberg Teaching Fellow, 2020-2021 (Inaugural group)
Lybrand Silver Medal for “Let me explain,” 2020. Article published in 3/2020 in Strategic Finance.
