Laurie Gregg, MD, FACOG, MSCP, CPE, DipABLM, has been a Chief Well-being Officer for Sutter Independent Physicians since 2019. She has instituted an organizational focus on well-being that includes individual monitoring of burnout, quarterly education on ways to change the medical system to prevent burnout, and programs that build community and collegiality among physicians. She shares her wellness/well-being work through leadership at the outpatient clinic, hospital, hospital system and national levels, leveraging a formalized peer support training and system to support physicians facing large or unexpected stressors. She was instrumental in launching a national peer support network for OB/GYNs across the country. She has presented wellness and well-being research at the international and national conferences and continues to find innovative ways of helping physicians stay within a profession that took so much training to enter. The American Association for Physician Leadership has helped physicians develop their leadership skills through education, career development, thought leadership and community building.

The American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) changed its name from the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) in 2014. We may have changed our name, but we are the same organization that has been serving physician leaders since 1975.
